In Portugal, this project breathes new life into two old warehouses, seamlessly uniting them to form a singular space.
The roof folds to form the pool, making it appear as if the slab had given in to the weight of the water. This bold gesture is visible also from the interior, because the concave tank of the rooftop pool becomes the living room ceiling. The image of structural collapse that this undulation conveys dialogs with the existing wall, and introduces a spatial tension charged with symbology, abstraction, and subtlety.

Dutch couple and founder of a design agency installed a gorgeous green house in their garden. This second-hand greenhouse, dismantled and collected from the other side of the country took them months of work, but the result is amazing. It is not necessarily for plants, but more as a garden room and workshop space. A very colorful and inspiring place filled with a mix match of vintage finds.

Set in a national eco- reserve, Da Licença is an almost Monastic Arts & Crafts - influenced retreat in Portugal's Alentejo region. The hotel's owners undertook the design themselves, and interiors are inspired by their love of art and nature, while a local architectural firm rehabilitated the series of historic buildings that now houses five suites, all with private gardens and terraces. An old olive pressing room is now a gallery for the owner's art collection.
